The elections for Maharashtra Legislative Council are being held as three members of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), two of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and one of the Congress, are retiring from the Upper House of Maharashtra legislature on June 21.

The EC statement informed that the notification for the polls will be issued on April 26 while the last date for filing nominations would be May 3.
