ITIs to have board to grant CBSE equivalent certificates
In a move to boost vocational education in the country and dispel its stigmatisation, the government plans to set up a central board of certification for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) that would grant school finishing certificates, equivalent to Class 10 and 12, Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said on Wednesday.

The minister said a number of other steps were also being taken for upgradation of quality of training in ITIs including training and re-training of ITI instructors.
