Turkey Earthquake: IAF Deploys C-17 Globemaster for Relief Ops

 More than 4,300 people have died in Turkey and neighbouring Syria after 5 back to back earthquakes have hit the region, with the largest one of 7.8 magnitude, having struck on Monday morning. The Government of India has sent two NDRF teams to Turkey along with relief equipment on this occasion. IAF deployed its biggest cargo plane - the C-17 Globemaster to carry relief material to Turkey. IAF aircraft with 4 cryogenic oxygen tanks from Singapore arrives in India

Since Friday, the IAF has been airlifting empty oxygen tankers and containers to various filling stations across the country to speed up the distribution of the much-needed medical oxygen in treating COVID-19 patients. The IAF was also transporting essential medicines as well as equipment required by the designated COVID-19 hospitals in various parts of the country.
