Facebook on Donald Trump ban: Oversight board to announce decision on May 5
Facebook blocked Trump`s access to his Facebook and Instagram accounts over concerns of further violent unrest following the Jan. 6 storming of the US Capitol by his supporters. It later handed the case to the oversight board. The board had said then that the Trump case received over 9,000 comments, more than any other case.

Facebook oversight board widens scope to rule on content left up on platform
Before this change, Facebook and Instagram users who had exhausted the appeals process could send cases of removed content to the board - but only the company itself could ask the board to review content left up on the platforms. The move will open the process up for any user, including Facebook employees, to refer to another`s content.

Facebook names 20-member 'Supreme Court' panel to moderate content
Social networking giant Facebook on Wednesday (May 6) announced the first 20-member Oversight Board, which will act as a “Supreme Court" for the platform, on decisions about how content is moderated on Instagram and Facebook.
