UK Eurofighter Typhoons intercept Russian Sukhoi Su-27s, IL-20 spy plane over Baltic Sea
Eurofighter Typhoon fighters of the United Kingdom's 6 Squadron intercepted a group of Russian warplanes over the Baltic Sea on Thursday (June 4, 2020). Russian Ilyushin IL-20 COOT A intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and two Sukhoi Su-27 combat jets flying over the Baltic Sea faced the Eurofighter Typhoons which had been launched from a military base as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Air Policing mission.

The RAF released photos of the Eurofighter Typhoon jets, part of Operation AZOTIZE of the Baltic Air Policing mission in Estonia, intercepting the Russian Sukhoi Su-30s on June 14 and 15. Ten days later, the Typhoons were directed to intercept two Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighters.

Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighters, military transport planes intercepted twice in 24 hours by UK RAF Eurofighter Typhoons near Estonia
In the first interceot the Typhoon escorted a Russian military Antonov An-12 transport aircraft on June 25 and a few hours later on the same day, the Euofighters were once again airborne after two Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighters and one Ilyushin IL-22 (Coot B) military transport aircraft were spotted. On June 14 and 15, RAF Typhoon jets on QRA had intercepted Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighter aircraft flying to the north of Estonia twice.

UK RAF Eurofighter Typhoon jets intercept Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighters near Estonian airspace
According to the Royal Air Force, its Typhoon fighters based at Estonia's Ämari Air Base have intercepted Russian aircraft eight times since taking over the Baltic Air Policing mission on May 3, 2019. On June 15 too RFA jets had intercepted a Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighter and an Ilyushin IL-76 Candid transport aircraft.
