Heavy rainfall for second consecutive day in Delhi and adjoining areas, waterlogging on Safdarjung flyover

New Delhi and its adjoining areas received heavy rains for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Several roads, including the road near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, were waterlogged due to rain, causing traffic disruptions.

Intermittent rain in Delhi since morning in many areas, water started filling the roads.

Parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), including Delhi and Gurugram, received intermittent rain on Tuesday morning. India Meteorological Department said, " Heavy rain with thundershowers to take place at many places over South-West Delhi, New Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Preet Vihar, Central Delhi, North-East Delhi, South Delhi, South-West Delhi, Gurugram."

Monsoon likely to reach Delhi around July 10, most-delayed in 15 years: IMD

Normally, the monsoon reaches Delhi by June 27 and covers the entire country by July 8. Last year, the wind system had reached Delhi on June 25 and covered the entire country by June 29.
