Australia to join China-led infrastructure bank
Australia on Wednesday announced that it will join the new China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank as a founding member, contributing about 930 million dollars to the financial institution of which India will be the second-largest shareholder.

Australia and Russia on Saturday announced their decision to join the China-funded Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), joining the last-minute rush to sign up to the USD 50 billion bank before the March 31 deadline amid speculation that the US too may apply.
