Farmers' protest: Be ready to shut down these 12 metro stations at short notice, writes Delhi Police to DMRC over ‘chakka jam’ on February 6

In the letter, New Delhi DCP asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to stay prepared to shut down a dozen metro stations, if the need arises, within a short notice. The DCP has said that given the circumstances of law and order and to control the crowd, the metro staff should be ready.

Farmers Protest: Amit Shah calls emergency meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an emergency meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava, Director of Intelligence Bureau Arvind Kumar and others at the Parliament to discuss the preparations for Saturday (February 6), when the Farmers’ Union is going to stage a three-hour long “Chakka Jam” all over the country.

Farmer unions announce nationwide chakka jam on February 6, threaten to block state, national highways

Union leaders told a press conference at the Singhu Border, on the Haryana side, that they will block the roads between 12 pm to 3 pm on February 6. They also alleged that farmers have been "ignored" in the Union Budget 2021-22, and water and power supply have been curtailed, and mobile toilet blocks being removed, at their protest venues.
