DMK terms it ‘farcical drama’ after Tamil Nadu CM declares Cauvery delta as protected agriculture zone
The CM’s announcement was welcomed by their ally PMK’s leader Ramadoss, who welcomed the move, calling it a “victory”, as it would prevent the desertification of the Cauvery districts. Tamil Nadu Congress Chief K.S. Alagiri also had expressed that the move would benefit the farmers.

Rs 56 cr package for Cauvery delta farmers for 'kuruvai' crop
The Tamil Nadu government on Monday announced a Rs 56 crore package for farmers in Cauvery delta districts in the state to take up 'kuruvai' (short-term) paddy and pulses plantation.
This included supply of 12 hours of three phase power.
