1,000 BEd colleges served showcause notice: Official
The NCTE has asked 16,000 BEd and D Ed colleges in India to submit affidavit in respect to all the data and only, 12,000 institutes of them filed affidavit, said Anil Swarup, Secretary, School Education and Literacy, in Union Human Resource Development Ministry.

The Human Resource Development Ministry, which aims to overhaul teachers` training in the country, on Tuesday announced that the best-rated Bachelor of Education colleges will be left out of the regulatory regime of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
