Retail inflation fell to a new low of 3.66 percent in August due to a slower rate of price rise in vegetables, fruits and protein items, except pulses, which may prompt the Reserve Bank to cut rates at its September 29 policy meet.

August retail inflation hits a multi-year low of 3.66%

Retail inflation for the month of August fell to multi-year low of 3.66 percent on account of cheaper food prices, including of vegetables, fruits and cereals, as per data released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
