Voting is currently underway in 16 seats to decide the fate of 237 candidates, including 29 women. Former chief minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren is also in the fray along with minister Randhir Singh.

Two players may come out as crucial - Babulal Marandi and Sudesh Mahto. Marandi is the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand. His party is expected to fetch somewhere between 9 and 11 seats. Sudesh Mahto's All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), which split from the NDA just before the Assembly elections, had won 5 seats in the last Assembly polls and is expected to retain as much.

Jharkhand assembly election: Voting ends in the fourth phase, 62.46% turnout recorded

The constituencies that went for the election include Madhupur, Deoghar, Bagodar, Jamua, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Bokaro, Chandankayari, Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi, and Baghmara. Polling began at 7 am in Jamua, Bagodar, Giridih, Dumri and Tundi seats and concluded at 3 pm, while in the remaining seats the polling ended at 5 pm.
