Delhi Police arrests 6 people for Seelampur violence, conducts raids

The violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Seelampur and Jafrabad area of northeast Delhi left 21 people, including 12 policemen and and three from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), injured.

Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Delhi lead to traffic restrictions, long jams

The Delhi Traffic Police in its advisory informed that Road No 13A between Mathura Road and Kalindi Kunj will be closed and people coming from Noida are advised to take DND or Akshardham to reach Delhi. Similarly, people going to Noida from Mathura Road are advised to take the Ashram Chowk, DND or Noida Link Road.

Anti-Citizenship Act protests: Former Congress MLA Asif Khan named accused in FIR in Jamia violence

However, the former MLA denied the charges and said he was involved in a peaceful protest. "We are not rioters. I have already made it clear that no one is above the law," Khan said. He further accused the SHO of threatening the locals and demanded a judicial inquiry into the police action against university students.

31 cops, 67 people injured, 34 vehicles vandalised, 47 detained: Delhi Police submits report to MHA on Jamia violence

The protest against the Citizenship Act turned violent after the agitators set ablaze four buses near New Friend Colony. Some of them also joined a protest by Jamia Millia Islamia University at the campus, which later became violent. Locals of Sarai Julema in Jamia Nagar area clashed with police. The situation turned critical when the police got into action. Several Jamia students were also said to have been injured in the clash.

The video surfaced online on Tuesday, two days after clashes erupted between the police and students at Jamia Nagar in south Delhi. A protest march by Jamia University students turned violent after aa group of agitators clashed with the police. The mob set ablaze four buses in the area in protest against the Citizenship Act. Following which, the police had to resort to lathicharge.

Anti-Citizenship Act protest intensifies in Uttar Pradesh's Mau, several arrested; Section 144 clamped

Mau witnessed large scale violence on Monday night. Cops also resorted to firing teargas shells and lathicharging the protesters. Due to the agitation, internet services were also suspended in four districts of Meerut, Saharanpur, Aligarh and Mau to stop rumours on social media.

Jamia protests: 10 arrested for violence, none of them are students

Earlier on Monday, the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against 15 people for their alleged involvement in the protests that took place on Sunday. The agitators had set ablaze four buses near New Friends Colony, injuring at least six policemen and two fire brigade personnel.
