New Delhi: India on Sunday bagged four medals, including a gold, on the final day to finish runners-up in both men's freestyle and women's wrestling competitions of the Asian Cadet Championship here.

Although Indian men's freestyle team failed to defend their title, which they bagged last time in Pune, it was overall an impressive show by the host wrestlers.

Iran secured the top spot in men's freestyle with 77 points, while India could earn 74 points for a second-place finish. Uzbekistan settled for the third position with 59 points.

In the women's category, Japan bagged 92 points to become the champions. India, with 82 points, had to settle for the second position, followed by Kazakhstan at third with 67 points.

Meanwhile, Indian men's Greco-Roman team finished fifth.

Today, Divya Kakran claimed the lone gold medal for India after beating Mongolian Byambadorj Tsetsegbayar 3-2 in the final bout of 70kg women's wrestling.

Out of seven categories, India could win medals in four categories today.

While Monu won a bronze in 46kg men's freestyle, Deepak and Sumit also had a third-place finish in men's Greco-Roman 85kg and 100kg divisions, respectively.
