New Delhi: Indian tennis legend Leander Paes's campaign at the 2016 Chennai Open ended in an usual way today after his doubles partner Marcel Granollers fails to recover from an illness.

The second-seeded Indo-Spanish pair was set to play Austin Krajicek (USA) and Benoit Paire (FRA) in the quarterfinals today.

Confirming the pull-out, Chennai Open tweeted:

Paes and Granollers had beaten Taro Daniel and John Millman in the opening round on Tuesday.
