Feel lonely without Sania Mirza: Martina Hingis

New Delhi: They are certainly the hottest pair in the doubles circuit, and after winning their third successive Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, Martina Hingis admitted that she feel lonely without her partner, Sania Mirza on Friday.

Talking to journalists after defeating Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka 7-6, 6-3 in the women's doubles final at the Rod Laver Arena, the Swiss legend said, "I feel lonely without my partner."

At that time, Hingis was alone as Mirza was playing her mixed-doubles semi-final with Ivan Dodig, which the Indo-Croatian pair lost.

"She`s playing mixed doubles now. She`s busy, yeah. She`s got a job to do," Hingis added.

Known as the SanTina, Mirza and Hingis have ruled the women's doubles circuit and are unbeaten in 36 matches, and are just eight matches away from equalling the all-time record of 44 set by Jana Novotna and Helena Sukova in 1990.

Since their French Open exit in 2015, the World No. 1 pair has now won 43 of the next 46 matches with titles at Wimbledon, the US Open, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Beijing, the WTA Finals in Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney and Australian Open.
