Aus Open: Sania-Tecau lose in mixed-doubles final

Melbourne: India`s Sania Mirza and her Romanian partner Horia Tecau were defeated at the Australian Open mixed doubles final by Canada`s Daniel Nestor and France`s Kristina Mladenovic at Melbourne Park on Sunday.

The Indo-Romanian pair lost the match in straight sets 3-6, 2-6. Mirza and Tecau had defeated the Australian pair of Jarmila Gajdosova and Matthew Ebden 2-6, 6-3, 10-2 to reach the finals.

The 2013 Wimbledon was Sania and Tecau`s first tournament together.

Sania has two mixed double titles to her credit - Australian Open (2009) and French Open (2012), both with Mahesh Bhupati. While Nestor is a winner of 83 doubles titles and eight men`s doubles Grand Slams and three mixed-doubles titles.
