Melbourne: It was the same tournament in 2009 where Novak Djokovic pulled out of a match against Andy Rodick. But in the current scenario, he is not only one of the best players in terms of mental and physical fitness, but also a genius who makes his opponents fight for each and every point.

In Australian Open 2009, Djokovic withdrew from his quarter-final with Andy Roddick where he was trailing 7-6 (7/3), 4-6, 2-6, 1-2 as he could not continue. But five years down the line, the Serbian is seeking his fourth consecutive Australian Open title.

The heat at the Australian Open is taking its toll on the players, as by the end of day three, ten players had withdrawn from their respective matches.

On the other hand, Nole comprehensively defeated Argentine Leonardo Mayer 6-0, 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets to advance into the third round.

Djokovic is now eyeing another record, as he is seeking to become only the second man after Australia`s Roy Emerson to have sealed four consecutive Australian crowns.

Djokovic, who has won six grand slams, will now lock horns with Uzbekistan`s Denis Istomin, who defeated Dmitry Tursunov in four sets.
