Melbourne: Andy Murray had little difficulty eliminating his fourth round opponent Stephane Robert at the Hisense Arena at the Australian Open.

The number four seed defeated unseeded Robert 6-1 6-2 6-7 (6) 6-2 . The Scot was disturbed in the third set, but he found back his form in the fourth, winning the match in minutes.

The first two sets were a cakewalk for Murray who took them within 64 minutes. The Scot broke the French man right in his first service game, leading the first set 6-1. The second set was an easy sail too, with Murray winning it 6-2 in 35 minutes.

It was only in the third set that Robert seemed to be back in competition. He levelled the set 2-2 taking it to the tie-breaker, and eventually winning it 6-7 in 70 minutes. As Murray lost three match points in the set, frustration piled up and he vented it out on his racket, smashing it on the court. In the fourth set, Murray was back in business, sealing it 6-2, sealing his fifth consecutive Australian Open quarter-final spot.

Murray now meets winner of the fourth round match between Swiss maestro Roger Federer and French man Jo Wilfried Tsonga.
