Rio Olympics 2016: Narsingh Yadav's fate hangs in balance as NADA takes final decision today

New Delhi: The build-up to Narsingh Yadav's second Olympic Games appearance has been a harrowing experience for the wrestler.

After a long, drawn-out court battle with senior grappler Sushil Kumar, the Mumbai-based Narsingh failed a dope test weeks ahead of the Rio Games.

The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) disciplinary panel hearing today will reveal if Narsingh can represent India in the Olympic Games starting in Rio on August 5.

If found innocent, Narsingh will be reinstated.

The Wrestling Federation of India on Tuesday named Praveen Rana as Narsingh's replacement in the 74kg category of wrestling for Rio Olympics.

Rana has won gold medal in 74 kg weight category at the Dave Schultz Memorial wrestling tournament in 2014.

Last year, he won a 70 kg category wrestling tournament in Italy.
