New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu put a great show in the women's singles final against Carolina Marin where she settled for a silver medal.
Expectations were massive from the 21-year-old after she became the first Indian shuttler to advance into an Olympic final.
The Hyderabadi girl gave a neck-to-neck fight to her Spanish opponent Carolina Marin, who was the better of the two players.
In the summit clash, Sindhu lost 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a high-intensity final that lasted for an hour and 23 minutes at the Riocentre in Rio de Janeiro.
The way Sindhu fought in the final, the entire country was extremely proud of her.
In other news, Jamaican legend Usain Bolt created history by winning the 4x100m relay race, with which he also completed the rare 'triple-treble.'
Playing in his final Olympic event, the 29-year-old won his third gold medal of Rio 2016 - and his ninth overall - as he anchored the Jamaican 4x100m relay team to victory.
Bolt and his compatriots - Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake and Nickel Ashmeade dominated the event, finishing in 37.27secs, around half a second slower than the world record.
