Narsingh Yadav cleared to compete in Rio Olympics 2016

New Delhi: In a boost to India's Rio Olympics 2016 campaign, the Court of Arbitration (CAS) has allowed embattled wrestler Narsingh Yadav to compete in the Games.

The CAS on Friday rejected the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appeal against the clean chit given to him by NADA in a dope scandal.

The deicision paved the way for Yadav to compete in men's freestyle 74kg competition. Considered as one of the India's medal hope, he will face Zelimkhan Khadjiev of France in his first bout tomorrow at 18:38 IST.

Yadav had tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid - methandienone - in tests conducted on June 25.

The World Championships bronze-medallist, however, claimed that he was victim of a conspiracy.

He got clearance from the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on the basis a sabotage theory to his positive dope test but it was challenged by the WADA.
