Rio De Janeiro: India's wait for the first medal at Rio Olympics 2016 continued as several athletes disappointed on Day 2 of the mega event as well.

Here are the details of all the events and the results featuring Indian athletes on Day 2:

Heena Sidhu failed to qualify for the women's 10m Air Pistol event. The former world champion failed to recover from a poor start and finished 14th in a field of 44 shooters.

In the men's trap qualifiers, Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Kynan Chenai finished 17th and 19th respectively after the first day.

In archery, India’s trio of Deepika Kumari, Laxmirani Majhi and Bombayla Devi lost to World Champion Russia in Quarter-final.

Hockey: Having qualified for first Olympics after 36 years, Indian women's team fought hard to draw their opening game 2-2 against Japan.
