WOW! Four Paralympic athletes complete 1500m race faster than Rio Olympics gold winner

New Delhi: More inspiring news emerged from the ongoing Paralympics as four runners completed the men’s T-13 class 1500 metre faster than USA's Matthew Centrowitz, who won gold at the Rio Olympics.

Last month, the American finished first in the 1500-metre race with a time of 3:50.00. That time was bettered by Fouad Baka of Algeria with an effort of 3:49.84 at the Paralympics.

Surprisingly, that didn't win the Algerian a podium finish as three others finished ahead of him.

Kenya's Henry Kirwa won bronze with a time of 3:49.59, Ethiopia's Tamiru Demisse took silver with 3:48.59 and Baka’s brother Abdellatif clinched gold after finishing the race in 3:48.29.
