Tarlochan Singh to head ad-hoc committee for boxing in South Asian Games

The six-member committee has Indian Olympic Association official Rakesh Gupta as convener.

New Delhi: In the absence of a national body to govern boxing in the country, an ad-hoc committee, headed by veteran administrator Tarlochan Singh, has been formed to conduct the sport during the South Asian Games scheduled to be held Guwahati and Shillong from February 6 to 16 next year.

The six-member committee has Indian Olympic Association official Rakesh Gupta as convener.

The other members in the panel include national coach Gurbax Singh Sandhu and Kishen Narsi, who heads the International Boxing Association-appointed ad-hoc panel responsible for running the sport right right now.

Kuldip Vats and John Kharshing complete the committee.

India has been without a national federation since May when Boxing India was provisionally suspended following a revolt against the President and Secretary General by the state units.
