Prosecutor accuses Pistorius of `arming himself with sole purpose of killing Reeva`

Sydney, Apr 16 (ANI): The chief prosecutor in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius has charged the Paralympic sprinter that his `sole aim` had been to kill his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year when he fired the shots at his toilet door.

Steenkamp`s handwriting had inscribed the words `I love you` inside a gaudy Valentine`s Day card, which she had told her boyfriend not to open along with an accompanying gift until the following day.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, prosecutor Gerrie Nel accused that Pistorius had armed himself `with the sole purpose` of shooting his girlfriend dead in an argument, alleging he had been so overcome by emotion because he had `intended to kill her`, although the Blade Runner continued to deny the charges.

Meanwhile, Pistorius` counsel Barry Roux tendered as an exhibit the Valentine`s Day card Steenkamp had left for her boyfriend the night before he shot and killed her, where she had written `I think today is a good day to tell you that I love you`.

The court has previously heard that Steenkamp had left the card with a present on the table in Pistorius` home, telling him the night before that she was not to open either until the following day.
