Match 5: M Kido/Pia Bernadeth of Awadhe Warriors defeated Ivanov/Siki of Mumbai Masters 21-19, 21-15

In the decisive match, M Kido/Pia Bernadeth of Awadhe Warriors defeated Ivanov/Siki of Mumbai Masters in straight games. The brother-sister pair didn't have to face much problems against their opponents and won the tie 3-2 for their franchise Awadhe Warriors. With this victory, Mumbai Masters are now joint top in the points-table with 15 points with Hyderabd but they have played all their matches. Awadhe Warriors are ranked 4th with 12 points and their upcoming tie is against the Pune Pistons.

Match 4: Lee Chong Wei of Mumbai Masters defeated Awadhe Warriors' K Srikanth 21-15, 20-21, 11-5

Srikanth showed a lot of courage against the tournament favourite and World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei. The Malaysian won the match not before the Indian gave him a neck-to-neck fight. Lee Chong Wei won the first match without much trouble but it was the second game where Srikanth capitaised on each and every opportunity that came his way. Lee Chong Wei had a six-point lead in the second game, but Srikanth, who has been a sensation right through IBL 2013 made a spectacular comeback and bagged the game 21-20. But in the decider, Lee Chong Wei took the match to a different level and despite further resilience, Srikanth lost the final game 5-11.

Match 3: Markis Kido/Mathias Boe defeated Sumeet Reddy/Manu Attri

Sumeet and Manu have been a good pair right through this season but they were comprehensively defeated on Day 9 of the Indian Badminton League by Awadhe Warriors' Markis Kido and Mathias Boe. Markis/Mathias won the match 21-16, 21-14 convincingly to give their side a 2-1 lead in the tie.

Match 2: PV Sindhu defeated Tine Baun 21-12, 19-21, 11-8

Sindhu comprehensively won the first game 21-12 and Tine Baun wasn't looking at her best. She was trailing by four points even in the second game, but Baun made a good comeback and won the second game 21-19. The decider was once again a close contest, but Sindhu emerged victorious as a result of too many unforced errors from Tine Baun. With this win, the tie between the two teams is 1-1.

Match 1: Vladimir Ivanov beat Gurusai Dutt 21-18, 20-21, 11-9

In the first game, both the players gave each other a tough fight. Both the players were fighting till the score of 19-17 but then Ivanov didn’t give the Indian any chance and won the first game 21-18. Second game once again went to the wire. But this time, Dutt won the set 21-20 and took the game to third game. In the last and final game, it was again superb display of skills from both the players but in the end Ivanov managed to win the decider 11-9 and the match.

First match of the day is between Guru Sai Dutt of Awadhe Warriors and Ivanov of Mumbai Masters.

Today, we have just one tie. And it’s between Awadhe Warriors and Mumbai Masters.
