New Delhi: Home Minister of India used the best of words and their meanings to poke fun at Pakistan yesterday after Indian colts defeated the arch-rivals in the semi-final of Asian U-18 hockey tournament.

Usually a reticent politician, Rajnath played with words to explain how India won the match "with surgical precision". Yes, after India conducted surgical strikes inside Pakistan on Thursday.

The former Bhartiya Janata Party president took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian team, which eventually won the title today, and used the opportunity to convey the message to Pakistan.

India thus exacted their 4-5 loss to the host in last Saturday’s opening match of the fourth edition of the tournament.

After conceding the first goal, India struck immediately to level the score 1-1 at half-time. India then took a two-goal lead as soon as the third quarter started, only to see the score level at 3-3.

But India scored the all-important fifth goal in the dying seconds of the match.

And the Union Minister hailed the win, saying "Happy to see the future of Indian hockey in safe hands."

India had previously won the tournament in 2001, when it was introduced for the first time.
