Atwal slips to 71st in US PGA

White Sulphur Springs (US): India`s Arjun Atwal may have survived the cut, but he dropped further down to tied 71st position at the end of the third round of Greenbrier Classic golf tournament.

Atwal, who made the cut even as big names like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson missed it, shot a third round of two-over 72 on Saturday and is now one-over after three rounds.

Atwal had an eventful round with three birdies and five bogeys.

Meanwhile, US Open champion Webb Simpson enhanced his reputation with a five-uneer 65 that gave him a two-shot lead going into the final round. After a bogey free round, he is 14-under at Greenbrier Resort`s Old White TPC Course.

Troy Kelly shot a brilliant 62 and moved to second spot at 12-under, while rookie Charlie Beljan (67), JB Holmes (66) and Ken Duke (65) were 11-under.
