Vincent Kompany to miss another month out with injury, claims Manuel Pellegrini after Leicester draw

New Delhi: Manchester City have suffered a huge blow as skipper Vincent Kompany is set to miss out another month of action after suffering a calf injury. Manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed after the 0-0 stalemate against Leicester City in the Premier League.

City have been poor and vulnerable without Kompany at the back and that was evident again on Tuesday. Leicester missed chances to score and that saved City the blushes.

Pellegrini stated that, “We will see how long Vincent will be out, but I don’t think it will be less than 3-4 weeks."

He also added that the muscle injury isn't an easy one and it will take long for the Belgian to make a return.

Interestingly the former Real Madrid and Malaga manager stated that his side did more than Leicester to win the game.

"We did more than Leicester to win the game. We had more possession, more attempts on goal, more clear options but it was a tough game against a very good team."

With some key fixtures coming their way in January 2016, Kompany's unavailability will hurt City nonetheless. Pellegrini will hope his current defence sticks on and maintains grit in front of goal. The clean sheet on Tuesday will please the manager though after City last had managed it against Aston Villa in November.
