Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he's `scared` of retirement

London: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is `scared of the day` when he will eventually leave the Premier League club.

The 66-year-old Frenchman, who will celebrate his 20th anniversary as Gunners coach in October, has one year left on his current contract at the Emirates.

Wenger, however, admitted that he was dreading his retirement and pointed out that he couldn`t understand how his old rival Sir Alex Ferguson was able to walk away from the sport, the Mirror reported.

In a new book by former Premier League boss Alan Curbishley, Wenger has stated that football has been his life, adding that, "Our pleasure comes from that - and our social attitude as well!".

Wenger, who has not delivered the Premier League title since 2004, has come under greater pressure to step down despite winning two FA Cup finals in the last three seasons.
