Yuvraj Singh: Australia pacers will be tough test for southpaw

New Delhi: India's 2011 World Cup winning hero Yuvraj Singh will not have an easy time after his return as Australia's pacers will be tough nut to crack in the upcoming T20 series in January 2016.

Yuvraj was drafted back into the team after some consistent performances in the Ranji and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Yuvraj helped Punjab enter the last eight of Vijay Hazare Trophy before the team lost against Himachal Pradesh.

The left-hander who had been an outcast from the Indian side for quite some time, will look to build on the chance the selectors have given him.

Against Australia's fast bowlers getting runs will not be an easy prospect given the fast pitches and home conditions. Yuvraj will face some quality pacers in the Aussie side who will provide a stiff test. Yuvraj will relish the opportunity of facing some good bowling and getting runs against them will be the ultimate satisfaction.

The likes of Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazlewood, James Faulkner, James Pattinson and Pat Cummins are genuine T20 campaigners. The pace variety provides plenty to look forward to and against Yuvi it will be a big affair.

The southpaw has been given a chance by the selectors to prove his mettle given the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India in March 2016. Alongside veterans Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj saw the selectors backing experience for the crucial series.

Coming back to the side was pivotal for Yuvraj Singh and he has three T20 matches in Australia to showcase the weight of his return.

India have some proven names in the side and Yuvraj's addition makes it stronger. It will be interesting to see whether Shikhar Dhawan gets a chance up the order given his continuity of failures. With Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, India have a good option for the opening slot.

Yuvraj's inclusion will send a strong message by that middle order that include MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina.

Australia and India have been included in a close battle in T20s and the three-match series will be an enticing affair.
