Younus has right to consider T20 comeback: Butt

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ejaz Butt feels national captain Younus Khan has done no wrong by expressing his desire to make a Twenty20 comeback and the senior batsman should not be criticised for it.

"If Younus has expressed the will to comeback to the T20 team that is his right. He has every right to express himself," Butt said on Friday.

Younus had announced his retirement from Twenty20 cricket after winning the World Cup for Pakistan in July this year in England.

But in recent weeks, he has expressed his desire to make a comeback to the Twenty20 team insisting he would return if needed.

Butt said it was premature to comment on Younus` desire to comeback to Twenty20.

"One thing I want to make clear right now Younus has said nothing definite. But if he does make himself available for T20 cricket then I have the final authority to decide on the captaincy issue," Butt said.

The Pakistan board has appointed all-rounder Shahid Afridi as captain of the T20 side until next year`s World Cup after the retirement of Younus, who leads the Test and one-day sides.
