New Delhi: Australian skipper Steve Smith has been a revelation in international cricket in the last few years.

The right-hander, who replaced Michael Clarke as Australia's skipper across formats, made life miserable for the Indian bowlers when MS Dhoni & Co toured Australia in 2014-15.

Smith made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2010, did not have a great start to his career where he was dismissed for 1 and 12 at Lords ground.

While he had to wait for 22 innings for his first Test ton, it (111 at Perth) was one innings against England that revived his Test career.

Here is the video:

Smith is currently in West Indies where Australia will participate in a triangular series also featuring South Africa.

The hosts had a surprise in store for Smith, who turns 27 today, as they welcomed him with a birthday song. Smith also cut his beautiful birthday cake.

Smith later took to Twitter to thank Australian High commissioner in the Caribbean, John Pilbeam, for the wonderful surprise.
