Virat Kohli: Was resting in-form batsman a right move by Team India?

New Delhi: Virat Kohli has been the mainstay of India batting-line up for quite some time now. And the top-order batsman has been going through a purple patch with the willow as the 27-year-old scored truckload of runs in the recently concluded tour of Australia.

However, surprisingly at the time when ICC World T20 is round the corner, which is to take place on India's home soil, Kohli was rested for the forthcoming Twenty20 series against neighbors' Sri Lanka.

Now the question that arises is whether Kohli required a break from cricket? Especially, at a time when India have started their preparations for the coveted trophy, scheduled to held between March-April.

Three-match series against Sri Lanka is the last chance for Team India to play at home before the World Cup starts.

However, the Asia Cup is also lined-up ahead of the World T20, but that is going to take place in Bangladesh.

Now it would be interesting to see whether Kohli will manage to sustain his top form when he joins the national team possibly during the Asia Cup or the strategy to rest the best backfires.
