What made that win even more memorable was that fact that Ganguly, shirtless, celebrated with wild abandon. That moment, him waving his Team India jersey at the home of cricket is so beloved that the moment was framed in a photo at the BC Roy Club House in Eden Gardens.

Footnote: Yes, cricket is still a gentleman's game and removing shirts still attract slurs. But what prompted Ganguly to do it, probably, was an act of revenge.

In February that year, a certain Andrew Flintoff's wild, shirtless celebration at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium was one of the highlights of the tied series.

Call it karma, Flintoff was bowling the last over in the Natwest Series final.
