Indore: Two players from Madhya Pradesh, Ankit Sharma and Anand Rajan, who have been picked up by Deccan Chargers, are delighted to be a part of the Indian Premier League`s upcoming season.
"I am very glad to be picked up for such a big event. If I get an opportunity, I will leave no stone unturned to prove myself," said Sharma told reporters.
"I am focusing on my fitness, the 19-year-old added.”
Sharma said that Deccan Chargers contacted him when he was playing a Ranji Trophy match in Hyderabad.
"After some formalities I signed the contract agreement with them."
An allrounder, who hails from Gwalior, has played ten first class matches and scored 293 runs and taken 17 wickets.
Medium-pacer Rajan also said that IPL was a big opportunity as it would give him a chance to learn a few tricks of the trades from some of the greats of the game from around the world.
"Before IPL, I have to play some domestic cricket and I am concentrating on it right now," 23-year-old said.
Rajan has played 24 first class matches and taken 81 wickets and scored 201 runs.
