New Delhi: Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, who met West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that it was too early to speculate about him replacing the late Jagmohan Dalmiya as the new president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Speaking to reporters, the Bengal Tiger said that he had just gone to meet Mamata Banerjee post the passing away of Dalmiya who was very close to him.

Earlier, CAB sources told NDTV.com that Ganguly has the blessings of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

"During Dalmiya's funeral on Monday, Didi had asked Sourav to take Dalmiya's legacy forward," said a former CAB official who was present during the ceremony.

Considering his massive fan following, the Bengal Tiger seems to be the right candidate for the post of CAB president, however his inexperience in cricket administration can go against him.
