New Delhi: Pakistan T20I skipper Shahid Afridi is contemplating not to retire from T20Is after ICC World Twenty20.
Speaking to The National, Afridi, who had last year said the prestigious tournament would be his last international apperance, said there was a lot of pressure from his family and peers to continue playing.
“I have come to a point in my life where before I leave this [World Twenty20] is a very big challenge for me,” he said on the day of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Dubai.
“I should also take the opportunity to reveal that for a while now there is a lot of pressure from my family, a lot of pressure from my friends including my elders who say there is no need for me to retire from Twenty20. That is a huge pressure.”
Afridi guided Pakistan to their maiden World T20 title in 2009 where he hit crucial half-centuries in semi-final as well as final.
