New Delhi: India's Jasprit Bumrah has been emerging as new fast bowling sensation for the country. His ability to bowl yorkers at will has instantly made him skipper MS Dhoni's blue-eyed boy.
After an amazing tour of Australia, where the bowler got praise from all corners, Bumrah again won many hearts in the recently concluded series against Sri Lanka at home.
Since his international debut, whenever Dhoni threw the ball at him, the pacer hardly disappointed the skipper.
After the last T20I in Australia, Dhoni heaped praise on the 22-year-old by stating that he was the find of the tour.
And the young bowler said that Dhoni's praise after the series Down Under gave him a lot of confidence.
“It feels really nice. He (Dhoni) is such an experienced cricketer and has been leading the team for so many years. If he says something like that for you, it gives you a lot of confidence as a youngster,” the pacer told BCCI.
In fact, the feeling of breaking into India's World Cup squad hasn't sunk in yet for the Gujarat bowler.
“We are continuously playing since the Australian tour, and I haven’t had the time to think about that. It is important to focus on what is next. Now it is the Asia Cup, and I have to focus on that. Probably when I get some time, I would be able to process all of it.”
