Sourav Ganguly to meet Mamata Banerjee, likely to become CAB President: Report

New Delhi: Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly will meet West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday in order to discuss his chances of taking over as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) after Jagmohan Dalmiya's death.

According to a NDTV report, Ganguly, who is currently a joint secretary of the state association, will meet Mamata Banerjee, and is a clear favourite to replace Dalmiya.

CAB sources told NDTV.com that Ganguly has the blessings of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

"During Dalmiya's funeral on Monday, Didi had asked Sourav to take Dalmiya's legacy forward," said a former CAB official who was present during the ceremony.

Considering his massive fan following, the Bengal Tiger seems to be the right candidate for the post of CAB president, however his inexperience in cricket administration can go against him.
