New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to anoint consensus candidate Shashank Manohar as president for a second time.

Board members are expected to meet on October 4 to complete this formality during the SGM.

Manohar is among the few Indian cricketer administrators who is known for his ethics and integrity.

During his first stint as board president, Manohar presided over a very successful period in Indian cricket.

As he returns for his second innings, here are some of the lesser-known facts about the man.

1) Nagpur-based Shashank Manohar is a lawyer by profession.

2) His association with cricket administration began in 1996, when he became president of Vidarbha Cricket Association.

3) In the faction-ridden Indian board, Manohar belongs to the Sharad Pawar camp.

4) His father, VR Manohar, was advocate general of Maharashtra when Pawar was Chief Minister of the state.

5) After India's woeful display at the 2007 ICC World Cup, Manohar advocated performance-linked remunerations and contracts for cricketers.

6) The 58-year-old went on his first foreign trip in 2008 when he attended a ICC meeting in Dubai. He did not have a passport until the previous year.

7) Manohar does not carry a mobile phone or a watch.
