New Delhi: India's promising young talent Sarfaraz Khan continued his purple patch with the willow as he slammed yet another half century in the summit clash of the ICC U19 World Cup against West Indies on Sunday.

The 18-year-old batsman scored his fifth half-century of the tournament as he played a sensible knock of 51 runs off 89 balls, laced with five boundaries and a six.

And with that, he broke the world record to become the only batsman to hit seven fifties in the U-19 World Cup.

Earlier, the record was held by West Indian cricketer Kraigg Brathwaite, who has six fifties to his name in the youth cricket World Cup, followed by Babar Azam (5).

In the on-going tournament, the right-hander has scored - 81, 74, 74, 21*, 76, 59 runs.
