Ranji Trophy: After selectors' snub, Ravindra Jadeja once again sets domestic cricket on fire

New Delhi: After being ignored by the Indian selectors for the Sri Lanka tour and the long series against South Africa, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is back to his routine business of delivering match-winning performances in the Indian domestic circuit.

Jadeja, who represents Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy, scored 91 runs against Tripura and scalped five-wicket hauls in either innings (11 wickets for 72 runs). As a result of his heroics, Saurashtra thrashed Tripura by an innings and 118 runs.

Even in their second match against Jharkhand, Jaddu picked six wickets for 71 runs and also helped his team take a lead over their opponent with a 75-ball 58.

Jadeja had been MS Dhoni's go-to man over the years in all formats and despite heavy criticism from all corners, Mahi refused to let Jadeja go. It was only when Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of the Test team that Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri dropped the left-hander from the team.

With Axar Patel leaking too many runs in the first two matches of the T20 series against South Africa, experts were back to discussing names of candidates who could fill up the all-rounder slot. Jadeja's name was one of them.

As they say, success in domestic circuit is the key to an international recall. If 'Sir Jadeja' continues to deliver match-winning performances, it would be hard for selectors to ignore him for long, at least for the shortest format of the game.
