New Delhi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to take disciplinary action against Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali for opposing return of tainted pacer Mohammad Amir back in the national team.
The duo's boycotting a fitness training camp, which also included Amir has possibly not gone too well with Shaharyar Khan.
Shaharyar was quoted as saying by BBC: "We have talked earlier regarding this matter and we will talk again, but still if they (Azhar and Hafeez) do not agree then the PCB will think about disciplinary action against them."
Backing Amir's return, PCB inducted the fast bowler last week in a camp for 26 players which also includes T20 captain Shahid Afridi.
However, the Pakistani camp has yet not forgiven Amir, which was evident once again on Friday when both Hafeez and Ali refused to train with him.
“We will not take part in a camp which also includes Amir. We will not back down on our stance but are willing to discuss the matter with PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan,” Azhar was quoted as saying by Geo News earlier.
Earlier, Hafeez had refused a lucrative offer from Chittagong Vikings to play in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as Amir had already been signed by the same team.
The 23-year-old seamer was implicated in a spot-fixing scandal in which it was alleged that he had bowled deliberate no-balls in a Test against England.
Following investigations, the ICC handed him a five-year ban in February 2011. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to six months in prison at Southwark Crown Court.
