New Delhi: West Indies all-rounder Kevon Cooper faced a warning after umpires reported his bowling action after Tuesday evening's match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
But Cooper, who is playing for Lahore Qalandars, could continue to bowl as per PSL's media release.
However, if his bowling action is reported one more time, the 27-year-old will be suspended from bowling in the on-going tournament taking place in UAE.
And with that, the West Indian has become the first bowler whose action has been reported in the PSL.
He was bowling against Quetta Gladiators, when his action created some doubt in umpire's mind.
According to a report in ESPN Cricinfo, this is not the first instance of Cooper's bowling coming under the scanner. His action has been found suspect twice in the past: first in 2011 during the Caribbean Premier League and then during the 2014 IPL.
"Mr. Cooper has now been placed on the warning list and may continue to be selected to play and bowl for his team in a PSL match. Under the PSL Suspected Illegal Bowling Action policy, if a player is reported while on the warning list, the player shall be suspended from bowling for the remainder of the PSL tournament and from bowling in any matches organized by the PCB until such date as he is cleared or upon conclusion of any ineligibility period," the PSL release said.
