New Delhi: In an incredible county match between Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire, several records were shattered during a List A game in England on Monday.

In a Royal London One-Day Cup group match, Michael Lumb (184) and Riki Wessels (146) sent Northamptonshire fielders on a leather hunt as they stitched 342 runs for the opening wicket in 39.2 overs.

As a result of their record stand, which broke the previous record created in England – 318 by Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly against Sri Lanka in Taunton in the 1999 World Cup, Nottinghamshire scored 445 for 8 in their 50 overs.

While many believed a fatigued Nottinghamshire would falter under pressure, that was not the case as they gave a neck-to-neck fight to their opponent.

Batting at number seven, Rory Kleinveldt hammered 128 runs off 63 balls to put a fight for his team.

There wasn't much support from his other team-mates as a result of which they fell 20-run short of what would have been a mind-blowing chase.

While the aggregate numbers of runs scored fell two runs short of the 870 runs scored between that epic ODI match between South Africa and Australia, Lumb-Wessels stand was also ranked third highest in terms of biggest partnerships in List A Cricket.
