Mohsin retained as interim coach by PCB

Lahore: Mohsin Khan will continue as interim coach of Pakistan for the upcoming series against Bangladesh, starting in December at Dhaka.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said that the decision to retain Mohsin was taken as a full-time coach had not yet been identified.

"Mohsin will continue as interim coach for the Bangladesh tour that starts from November 26th and will include Tests, one-day internationals and a Twenty20 match," a board official said.

The retention of Mohsin is a clear indication that the new chairman of the board, Zaka Ashraf is satisfied with his performance as coach during the series against Sri Lanka.

The PCB had formed a committee in August this year to find Waqar Younis` successor and though it arrived at a shortlist of five candidates, no full-time coach has yet been appointed.

Sources in the board said that the PCB has been faced with delay in appointing a new head coach because some foreign candidates are taking a tough stance in the initial negotiations.

"The board is facing some issues convincing the foreigners to spend quality time in Pakistan during their stint with the team due to the security conditions in the country," a source said.
