One of cricket's most enduring images, Old Father Time weather vane at the Lord's Cricket Ground has been damaged by high winds. According to reports, the weather vane has been bent to a 90-degree angle from its original position following the turbulence.

New Delhi: One of cricket's most enduring images, Old Father Time weather vane at the Lord's Cricket Ground has been damaged by high winds. According to reports, the weather vane has been bent to a 90-degree angle from its original position following the turbulence.

The weather vane, in the the shape of Father Time removing the bails from a wicket, was gifted to the Lord's in 1926 by the architect of the stadium's Grand Stand, Sir Herbert Baker.

It was was originally located atop the old Grand Stand, however, was permanently relocated to the Mound Stand in 1996.

It had survived the Blitz during the World War II, and a lightening strike in 1992.

Reports also said that the damage to the iconic steel figure will be repaired in time for the start of English County Championship season on April 12.
