Lodha committee recommendations: Retired Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju to head new BCCI panel

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday approved the institution of a new panel which will advice the board on implementations of Lodha committee's recommendations.

According to reports, retired Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju will lead the panel, which also comprises three other legal counsels, including BCCI's counsel Abhinav Mukerjee.

The BCCI Working Committee today met at the Cricket Center in Mumbai to decide on the implementations of the judgement delivered by the Supreme Court.

The board released a press release, wherein it's stated that the panel will be the "single point interface for the BCCI to interact with the Justice Lodha Committee".

It further stated that the decision to form the panel was taken after board members felt that the Lodha panel "recommendations were complex" and many "technical and legal aspects were likely to come up" during the implementation of these suggestions as directed by the Supreme Court.
